Scotland is undoubtedly one of my favourite parts of the UK. My dad was born in Edinburgh and spent much of his childhood there, which perhaps explains the familial pull I feel up north. Edinburgh is one of my favourite cities, and beyond it, the Highlands are undeniably beautiful: vast, rugged and easily one of the most dramatic backdrops in the UK. Over the years, I’ve explored these landscapes on various road trips, from the height of summer to the depths of winter, discovering a collection of wonderful places to stay along the way. From iconic grand hotels to Scandi-inspired boltholes with fewer than ten bedrooms, below are my favourite places to stay in Scotland.
